All of my machines are Linux. Been that way for 5 years. I love my Linux machines, but it is becoming apparent that to go further in my development career I need to, at least include, one of the two main computer companies. Yeah, I can do a whole piece on the pros and cons of the FOSS lifestyle and I will but right now I want some advice.
So, do I buy a Windows 7 machine or a Mac? Which one is better for a web developer/designer? Best IDE’s?
I have used a Mac with TextMate lately and am extremely impressed with it. Although I love NetBeans. It’s not the code so much as the design and the tools.
I can dual boot a pc with Linux (or go the virtualbox route) but on a mac I could do all 3. If I’m not mistaken.
